....Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

....sorry....that does feel better though, i am in need of wool you see.... i am starting to pace and wring my hands together, yes', i know i only ordered it on Saturday, and i also know it was a bank holiday as well, but my patience is starting to crumble, i am generally as a person.. a very calm, relaxed individual that not much gets me all strung out.....unless, I'm waiting for wool.....i need my fix and i know that out there, their are others nodding there heads and understanding exactly what I'm talking about....yes, you know who you are, anyway, now i have got that out of my system here's a little something i found that's all about an obsessed knitter.....
Enjoy.......

....So near, yet so far...

...my crochet blanket that i have been working on for what seems like an age is actually nearly nearly finished, i have got to last remaining few hexagons and then went and ran out of white wool, 'doh', so here it is so far, missing the last few pieces and off course the edging, which i am not too sure what i want to do for the edging yet, i have a feeling it will probably be a lucy edging... so here it is....so far.....

....its quite a size actually, i think i have counted without the last eight or nine, two hundred hexagons, phew...

....also its pretty heavy, so i think us pixies are going be nice and snugly under it when Autumn comes back round again. Certainly not at the moment ,we seem to of gone straight from winter into summer, its really really hot, so no snugly blanket just yet...poo.

....and a final photo of the unfinished corner, i just want Mr postman to hurry up with my wool. Anyway, cheerio for now, hope your lovely long weekend is all going just peachy and i will see you all soon.  Pixie xxx

...Antiques and collectors fair...

...was on the agenda for today, its about an hours drive from where we live so we were off quite early this morning. What i love about these fairs is that not knowing of what you may find, that little excitedness you feel of not knowing what you will be bringing home with you, that's if your fortunate enough to find that thing that catches your eye, that thing that just grabs your attention and waves at you as you pass by, that little thing that you see and you wander on a little further and it plays on your mind until you just have to go back and get it before someone else does, i just love those moments.  Well.........i had that very wonderful feeling today as a wandered in and out of the stalls with a take away tea, and i must say i really didn't for one minute expect to be running, yes RUNNING back up the aisle to grab this little thing before someone else got it, even Mr Pixie looked at me as though 'are you serious!', but i couldn't just leave it there for someone else who i new wouldn't give it the love and attention that i would....so......here it is......

........of all the things for sale today at this enormous fair, it was this..............

....amazing, isn't it, i walked past a huge array of things and this little sooty was the thing that wanted to come home with me.......and i am delighted with him.......

.....simple things please simple minds, as Mr Pixie said.....i think he's probably right.....
....See you soon , Pixie xxx

...The Goddess and the martian....

....it has been good to pick up my crochet hook again after a break from it whilst getting over an RSI, but this was about as much as i could do before my wrist started to protest again, so small amounts it shall be for a little while. Even if it is just finger puppets.

Saturday 9 April 2011

....I just wanted to share this with you...

....Mr pixie and i have just come back from a really lovely peaceful day out in the countryside, it was just so restful to escape from the seaside, which ,yes, i know that is lovely too, but i am a country girl at heart, i went to school in a village and grew up surrounded by meadows and streams and climbed trees and picked flowers and we had an orchard, and i miss it so incredibly much, so when i can i persuade my beloved to drive us out somewhere rural for the day just so i can get my fill of trees, meadows, woods and farmy animals.
Anyway, to cut a long story short ( and trust me it would be a long story if i started to go into my growing up in the country thing, so i will spare you that, for now), on our little jaunts out we sometimes go to a really beautiful place called 'Badgers hill farm', it is just the most loveliest wee place, with chickens and geese wandering about at their own leisure and goats grazing, there;s even the odd emu taking a stroll, they do cakes and tea and such like and children just love it, well the thing i wanted to show you was there flyer, its been hand drawn and then printed for people to take away with them, so here it is......

....isn't it lovely, i now have it stuck on my wall in the kitchen..... and....

.....a duck with a toupee......it just made my day.

.....its the simple things in life that just makes everything that little bit better, don't you think.  Anyway, hope your all having a lovely weekend wherever you all may be and enjoying the wonderful sunshine, its been a long time coming.......Pixie xxx

...Books, books, books...

....Hello lovely people, i have a couple of new books i wanted to show you..... Don't you just love a new book, i do, an endless source of inspiration, constantly giving and constantly fulfilling.....
The first one is, 'Truth will measure', by the very talented 'Jesse Reno', a very inspiring mixed media artist, i really encourage you to take a look at the video of him in action on his web page, its quite astounding. Here are some snap shots of some of the pages in the book.......

....and one more....

....intriguing aren't they, they have a sort of tribalness about them....
....and the next book is 'Art at the speed of life', by Pam Carriker, again a really inspiring mixed media artist  who shares lots of tips and ideas for your mixed media, here's some pages from her book.....

....a page by Nancy Lefko'.....

....a written piece by LaurieBlau-Marshall....

....the lovely Suzi blu....

....and also a really interesting piece by Brandie Butcher-Isley on altered photography.....
...so there you have it, some lovely bookie stuff, I'm off now for a cup of tea, and a stroll along the sea front, before i go and attempt to try some crochet after a break from it from having a sore wrist, take care everyone wherever you all may be. Pixie xx

Sunday 3 April 2011

...Oohhh i do like a nice cup of tea...

....actually i really do, its the fixer of things, the warmer upper, the soother, the relaxer, that wonderful ritual of filling the kettle, plopping your favourite tea bag in your pot or your favourite cup and waiting for it to brew and adding all the extras or not that makes your tea unique to you.....
And isn't that just what a sunday afternoon needs, a mid afternoon tea break......with a slice of cake, off course.....
